Sample Welcome Call script
Here is a quick rundown of the Welcome Calls.
1. Go to the D2L, click on the Link button (next to the email icon), click on K12 LMS. Once on the LMS, you can click on your homeroom then click the “Overview” button to look at all the students in your homeroom.
2. You will then see a list of all the student’s names in your homeroom, along with some other information. You can just click on the “contact info” button for the students and a phone number will pop up. Much faster than looking them all up in TVS.
3. You need to keep track of the calls you make somehow. I think the easiest way is to click the “Export” button once you see the student list. That gives you all the information in an excel spreadsheet. The formatting is kind of funky, but it works well enough
4. Then, you just call the students/learning coaches! Please make at least 3 attempts before following the procedure with notifying admin with whom you can't get in touch with. (Be sure to use the "Family" tab in TVS to help get other numbers!)
5. For everyone you DO talk with, make sure to leave a note in the student’s profile. You do so by checking the box next to the student’s name, clicking the “Action” button at the top of the window, and choosing “Add Note”. Then just choose the Student Welcome Call Template from the options. You can leave any notes in the Notes that you feel are good to know or appropriate.
